The BIRN is a US NCRR initiative aimed at creating a testbed to address biomedical researchers' need to access and analyze data at a variety of levels of aggregation located at diverse sites throughout the country. The BIRN testbed will bring together hardware and develop software necessary for a scalable network of databases and computational resources.
