RAID Incorporated's new InfiniBand Storage Solution is designed for all major parallel file system-based applications that demand the highest level of performance at an affordable cost point per GB.

Each 4U storage node has a dual Nehalem CPU with a QDR InfiniBand HCA. Up to (10) 4U, 36-bay storage nodes can be incorporated into a 42U rack. The 4U chassis has 36 removable drive bays that are easily accessible using a 6Gb backplane. This enables a variety of drive options such as SSD, SAS, or SATA in 3.5" or 2.5" sizes. RAID groups are enabled in sets of 8 individual drives using a 6Gb SAS PCI-Express RAID card. With 100% cooling redundancy and a high-efficiency redundant power supply, this solution is optimized for the next generation Intel Xeon series.

"This new solution allows us to provide customers with a cost-effective entry point into the world of InfiniBand storage", stated Robert Picardi, Chief Operating Officer at RAID. "Starting at $0.50 per GB, RAID's InfiniBand Building Block Storage Solution is the first in the market to achieve an impressive combination of performance and cost point while at the same time allowing users to upgrade to next-generation connectivity."
