One of the hallmarks of the ISC conference, taking place June 17-20, 2008 in Dresden, Germany is the 'Hot Seat Session' with 18 short, to-the-point presentations by experts from providers of hardware, software, interconnects and solutions. Speakers have just 10 minutes each to present their latest developments, new products and strategies.

A panel of "inquisitors" then asks probing questions. Since they have only a limited time to make key points to an audience of experts participating speakers take their presentation time seriously - it's not unusual to have a company's CTO or even CEO giving the presentation. This year the following representatives will climb into the ring for their companies:
The 'Hot Seat Session' will be held Thursday, June 19.
The contributions for the June 17 pre-conference Scientific Sessions have been selected by the Scientific Programme Committee via a call-for-papers procedure. The ISC Award Committee has also selected the following papers to receive special awards:
